How to Apply for a Colorado Marriage License

The following are required when applying for a marriage license:
- Identification. A government-issued ID is required, such as a U.S. driver's license, birth certificate, passport, visa, military ID or state-issued ID card.
- Social security number must be given when applying for a license.
- If either party is divorced, the party must attest to the date and name of the court that the divorce was final. If the divorce occurred within 90 days of the request for a marriage license, the final divorce decree, signed by the judge or court referee, must be presented.
- License fee of $30 (subject to change). Cash only. No credit cards or checks accepted.
Licenses are issued immediately and are valid for 30 days anywhere within the State of Colorado. The legal age for marriage without parental consent is 18 years of age. No blood test is required.
