Vail is located in the central mountains of Colorado with easy access via I-70, Vail/Eagle County Airport and Denver International Airport. You'll find it is very easy to access Vail from outside of Colorado whether you are flying or driving.
From Denver International Airport to Vail Village Condominiums
Approximately 2.5 hours
- Take Pena Boulevard from the airport to Interstate 70 West (towards Grand Junction).
- Stay on I-70 West approximately 120 miles to Exit 176 (main Vail ski area exit).
- At the bottom of the ramp, go 3/4 of the way through the traffic circle so that you go under the highway's underpass.
- At the second traffic circle, stay to the right. Take the first exit onto South Frontage Road towards Lionshead.
- Travel on South Frontage for about a mile until you drive under the pedestrian bridge that goes over both I-70 and South Frontage Road. Then, take the immediate left after the pedestrian bridge onto West West Lionshead Circle. Keep to the left.
- To Lion Square Lodge: Take the first left onto West Lionshead Place, between Montaneros and Marriott, towards the Antlers hotel. Follow the road past the Antlers hotel (up the hill to the left). The road leads to the Lions Square Lodge parking lot.
To Montaneros: After you pass the bus stop on your left, turn left into the Montaneros driveway and entry to the garage.
From Eagle-Vail County Airport to Vail Village Condominiums
Approximately 40 to 45 minutes
- From the airport access road, turn right onto US Highway 6, into the town of Eagle.
- Proceed into the roundabout, and follow the signs to I-70 East.
- Stay on I-70 East about 40 miles to Exit 173 (West Vail).
- At the bottom of the ramp, go half way around the traffic circle, staying in the right lane, and take the second exit onto South Frontage Road towards Lionshead.
- Travel on South Frontage for about 2 miles until you see the pedestrian bridge that goes over both I-70 and South Frontage Road.
- Turn right just BEFORE the pedestrian bridge onto West Lionshead Circle. Keep to the left.
- To Lion Square Lodge: Take the first left onto West Lionshead Place, between Montaneros and Marriott, towards the Antlers hotel. Follow the road past the Antlers hotel (up the hill to the left). The road leads to the Lions Square Lodge parking lot.
To Montaneros: After you pass the bus stop on your left, turn left into the Montaneros driveway and entry to the garage.
From Denver International Airport to Simba Run
- Take I-70 West to Exit 176 (Vail).
- Take the second exit from the traffic circle onto North Frontage Road. Continue 1 mile.
- Simba Run will be on the right.
From Eagle-Vail County Airport to Simba Run
- From the airport access road, turn right onto US Highway 6, into the town of Eagle.
- Proceed into the roundabout, and follow the signs to I-70 East.
- Stay on I-70 East about 40 miles to Exit 173 (West Vail).
- Take the fifth exit from the traffic circle, and go under I-70.
- Turn right onto North Frontage Road. Continue 1.4 miles.
- Simba Run will be on the left.
