Spring Bird Banding Session 2013 | |||||||||
| Alabama's Gulf Coast is the first landfall and the last departure point for thousands of migrating birds. Annually, trained crews and volunteers capture and band thousands of Neo-tropical migrant birds representing dozens of species. Fort Morgan monitors population levels, general condition of migrant birds, and observe the effects of weather on bird migration. Some sessions have captured Ruby-throated hummingbirds.
Come see what it is all about. Bring a lawn chair, binoculars and your curiosity. Bird banding station will open before dawn each day and crease between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. | ||||||||
