The rivers and canals of the UK and Europe offer the unique opportunity to vacation aboard a boat. Our distinctive collection of cruisers, narrowboats and houseboats allow guests to cruise the European waterways in style. No prior experience is required to pilot a European vacation boat. The watercraft are easy to handle, and most travelers need only a short, free tutorial before they can set sail.
Large, spacious cruisers come in a wide range of styles and can accommodate two to 10 travelers. These larger vacation boats are available for tours on the Norfolk Broads, the River Thames and the Caledonian Canal.
Specially designed to navigate the slender canals of the UK, narrowboats sleep 12 guests comfortably and are available in a variety of layouts. Narrowboat rentals are also available on the Canal du Midi in France as well as in Holland.
Houseboats are permanently moored in a variety of beautiful locations on the Norfolk Broads. Free dinghies are provided with all houseboats, and most also offer day launch hire, allowing guests to explore nearby attractions.
Each boat, regardless of style, includes a fully equipped kitchen, central heating and a water heater. Boats also have sealed-unit toilets similar to those used in aircraft. In the unlikel y event you experience an engine or equipment problem, a service engineer will be dispatched immediately.
The cost of fuel is included in the price of most boat rentals on the UK canals. In France and Ireland, guests may be required to refuel before returning the boat. Boating vacations require a certain amount of physical activity, so we recommend each party have at least two reasonably fit adults.
