Bubba fell in love with Breckenridge while stopping by to visit a friend on his way to surf in San Diego in 1975. He moved here permenantly in 1976 and was the first person to ever snowboard on Breckenridge Mountain. Bubba was the general manager for Shamus O'Tooles Roadhouse before owning the Gold Pan for several years. He finally moved to be the bar manager at the River Mountain Lodge in 1990 when he was given the position by the owner of the lodge. His hobbies include rugby, surfing, gardening and playing horse-shoes.
