The Museum makes learning fun for the whole family, as well as creates a wonderful on-Island venue for large scale public and private events and gatherings. The Museum is open to the public and is located on the 68 acre historic Honey Horn property, which dates back 300 years. The venue is comprised of wide open fields, beautiful natural vegetation and marsh views, the State's largest Southern Red Cedar tree dated at 1595, and a collection of some of the oldest existing buildings on Hilton Head Island, including the former plantation house, horse barn and other smaller out buildings. The Coastal Discovery Museum is the site for many outdoor events on the Island and can be reserved for wedding receptions. The newer Mary Ann Peeples Pavilion, the Discovery House and the Sea Island Party Room offer a wonderful variety of settings and venues. | |||||||||
