Hilton Head Island's premier history and nature discovery place, the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn is located on a 68 acre historic site dating back 300 years. Used frequently for area public and private events and festivals, this large "plantation" like museum houses an indoor museum, outdoor pavilion, butterfly emclosure, tours and educational classes for all ages, various historic and artistic displays, a horse barn and more. Its beautiful lowcountry setting, with salt marshes, open fields, live oak trees and some of the oldest buildings on the Island make this a great morning or afternoon place to enrich your understanding of Hilton Head Island, its history, its culture and its environment. Open year round, Monday through Saturday, 9:00am - 4:30pm and Sunday 11:00am - 3:00pm. Call 843-689-6767 ext 223 for Holiday hours.
