Cosby Cabin Rentals
Believe it or not, the small community of Cosby was known as “The Moonshine Capital of the World” during the first half of the 20th century. Hilly recesses and deep coves in the thick forests of the Smokies provided just the right environment for growing the crop and hiding the stills. Situated on the eastern side of the Gatlinburg entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, this vacation spot offers more than interesting history.
From a mountainside cabin or retreat, venture out in any direction to find many area attractions. Head east and cross into North Carolina for a visit to the famed Biltmore estate, or go west to downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge where adventures abound. Take a wild ride at Dollywood, explore the Cherokee Indian Reservation, and fly fish on Douglas Lake in the warmer seasons.
In the wintertime, ride the Gatlinburg Sky Lift, ski at Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort or soak in spectacular views from the Gatlinburg Space Needle, all approximately 17 miles away. Cross the state line into North Carolina for a visit to the incredible Biltmore estate, or find adventure a few miles west in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
Guests staying at a vacation rental in this lush valley will enjoy its charm and nostalgia. No matter what direction this trip takes, one is surely to find year-round fun in Cosby— the history-making kind.
