Smoky Mountains Weather
Weather conditions in the Smoky Mountains depend largely on elevation and the temperature can change quite dramatically throughout the day. A lightweight jacket is always a good idea in case of rain.
Spring and fall call for layered clothing, as the mornings and evenings are cool, while the sunny afternoons can get quite warm. Summers tend to be hot and humid with an average high nearing 90° and lows in the upper 60s. The mild winter temperatures rarely dip below freezing, and snowfall is common only in the higher elevations.
