Canyons Resort | ![]() | ||
| "So large and varied is The Canyons that every level of skier will find not just some terrain, but a bewildering amount of it." The annual SKI Magazine reader survey named Canyons Resort as a Top 10 North American ski resorts in 2012. One of the five largest ski resorts in the country and the largest in Utah, Canyons Resort offers more than 4,000 skiable acres of world-class terrain. Eight mountains' worth of trails, an award-winning terrain park and a variety of runs satisfy any level of skier or snowboarder—and it's all just four miles from Park City's historic Main Street! Canyons made significant improvements for the 2010-11 ski season, with two new lifts and a reconfiguration of the gondola's bottom terminal. A state-of-the-art, only-one-of-its-kind-in-North-America heated orange bubble lift now transports skiers from the base village up to Lookout and beyond to just below the Sun Peak lift. A new quad chair opens up the Iron Mountain area at the south side of Canyons, including 300 acres of new terrain. The Flight of The Canyons gondola base has been moved so that it is in line with the top of the Cabriolet lift, making upper-mountain access a much more simple and streamlined process. Additional improvements include a ski beach in the village — the perfect spot for après-ski relaxation — and increased snowmaking capability. Canyons Resort caters to folks who really love to ski and snowboard, and appreciate how well the diverse terrain holds and protects an average annual 355-inch bounty of snow. Whether you visit as a family, a group or by yourself, you'll find endless terrain for every style and ability. Take your pick: Long and gentle. Big and bowled. Steep and steeper. Aspen and pine. ResortQuest offers a large selection of ski-in/ski-out accommodations in the heart of the village, including Sundial Lodge, The Vintage on the Strand and Escala Lodge, as well as a variety of private homes, condos and townhomes in the surrounding area.
