2012/2013 Winter Season Winner: "Mountain Derby"
Presented by Dave Wallace, representing The Montage Deer Valley
To make your own Mountain Derby, mix up the following:
- 1.5 oz Woodford Reserve
- 1.5 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice
- 1 oz Lavender/Chamomile Honey
- .25 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Shake together all ingredients, and strain into a martini glass half rimmed with sugar. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
Recipe for Lavender/Chamomile Honey:
- 2 Cups organic clover honey
- 2 Cups water
- 2.5 Cups loose chamomile tea
- 1 Cup loose lavender Earl Grey tea
Heat honey and water until honey is fully dissolved. Add chamomile tea and steep for 8 minutes. Then, add lavender tea to the chamomile and steep an additional 10 minutes, or to taste. Strain using a double china cap strainer. Refrigerate.
