When is the best time to visit Charleston’s Islands?
There is no wrong time of year for a beach vacation! Each season brings us a new thing to explore and new way to enjoy the low country. You can bask in the summer sunshine, enjoy the sweet serenity of the uncrowded beaches in the winter, or take a swing at golf or tennis for your spring and fall travel. The famous delicious dining of the Charleston area is available all year long!
Season 1: Visiting Charleston’s Islands In Summer (May-August)
Is there a more perfect pair than summer time + beach vacations? You can soak up the sun, ride the waves or simply stroll along the shoreline – there is no wrong way to spend your week at the beach. For the outdoorsy traveler, summer is a great time to kayak, paddleboard, or charter a boat to explore Charleston’s waterways and natural beauty and wildlife.

- Spoleto (May-June): The Spoleto Festival kicks off the summer season with a celebration of art, jazz, theater, dance, and more throughout the downtown Charleston area.

Season 2: Visiting Charleston’s Islands Spring in Spring (March-April)
