    Saltwater fishing in the Outer Banks requires a N.C. Coastal Recreational Fishing License for all anglers ages 16 and older. Outer Banks fishing licenses may be purchased online at www.NCWildlife.org or by calling (888) 248-6834, as well as at many Corolla tackle shops.

    Freshwater Fishing Requirements

    Fishing in the northern Currituck Sound requires a Freshwater Fishing License. These fishing licenses are available for purchase online at www.NCWildlife.org, at local Corolla tackle shops, and at the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education at Currituck Heritage Park in Corolla.
