Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, voted the #1 Aquarium in America on TripAdvisor, takes visitors on an undersea adventure without getting wet. This top-rated attraction houses more than 10,000 exotic sea creatures from more than 350 individual species.

An underwater tunnel through Shark Lagoon offers an up-close look at denizens of the deep, including giant stingrays, moray eels and deadly sandtiger sharks. At Touch a Ray Bay and the interactive Sea-for-Yourself Discovery Center, guests have hands-on encounters with stingrays and live horseshoe crabs. Tunnels through the interactive Penguin Playhouse habitat give visitors the chance to go nose-to-beak with blackfooted African penguins.

Other incredible creatures on display at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies include a Pacific giant octopus, luminous jellyfish, poisonous dart frogs and Japanese spider crabs.

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies is just one of many Ripley's-themed attractions in Gatlinburg. The Smoky Mountains are also home to the Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium and a Ripley's 5-D Moving Theater motion simulator. The beautifully landscaped Ripley's Davy Crockett Mini-Golf course is located at Light #1 in Gatlinburg, and a second Mini-Golf at Light #13 in Sevierville is based on Old MacDonald's Farm. The chilling Ripley's Haunted Adventure features live actors in all their gory glory, while a trip to the Ripley's Candy Factory is a sweet treat at the end of the Marvelous Mirror Maze.
