I would come back, excellent location, but it's not the nicest place I've stayed at Kiawah.

This is a third floor, 2-bedroom 2-bath condo on the ocean. If you are familiar with Kiawah, it is near Night Heron Park and The Sanctuary. I like this area of Kiawah for its location, and because on New Year's Eve, both Night Heron Park and The Sanctuary have fireworks displays which we could watch from our windows and balcony. Listen to the sound of the ocean at night, and watch the sunrise and set over the ocean. Usually I reserve a larger unit, which may be why the balcony seemed small -- only room for two to sit outside, another could stand. Balcony access is only from the living room (larger units would normally have access from the master bedroom). Furnishings were a bit on the aged side, no pool or grill available, if that's important to you. Kitchen and appliances are typical, average space in kitchen, dining table would seat six comfortably. My 40+ y/o daughter observed that the unit was well laid out and nicely appointed, and there was adequate space for 3 adults and a 12-year old. King bed in master, twins in the 2nd bedroom, and a sleeper sofa for which linens were furnished. Master bath is large with a good-size shower (no tub); 10-minute drive to Fairfields Village for groceries, restaurants, gas and other needs. 2-3 minutes to the smaller marketplace at Town Center. Nature Center at Night Heron Park always entertains the grandson, ever since he was two and liked the swings to present when he likes the snakes and alligators and other wildlife residing there. Takes about an hour to drive to Charleston, depending upon the traffic, weather, etc.

Great place with awesome ocean views. Dolphins by the beach with pelicans and waterfowl to watch. Walking distance to Night Heron park. Easy beach access.

Last Minute Get-Away

The last week of 2015 was off to a rough start. At the last minute we decided to head to Kiawah. My wife had stayed at seveal of the Windswept units over the years and we were able to get a lovely unit for the New Years Weekend. Slept with the windows open for the whole stay (even though we woe to 40 degree weather Sunday AM). The roar of the ocean swept the stress away. Being close to the trails allowed for over 25 miles of hiking over the weekend. My wife biked. Cannot wait to get back.

Clean, comfortable and convenient

This unit was perfect for our family. It was close to the trails and shopping and was nicely updated and clean upon arrival. We especially appreciated the updated kitchen and bathrooms and the views could not be beat. We spent lots of time exploring the area, as it was our first visit, but we were glad to have a homey place to rest and get ready for the next days adventure. This is definitely somewhere we will come back to.

Outstanding villa loved the views

My stay was how do you say it beyond our dreams we had the times of our lives. The villa itself was gorgeous beautiful updated and furnished and would definitely recommend it to friends and family and hopefully we will be back.

The apartment is extremely moldy. The mold smell is intense and unpleasant. There were also cockroaches. A shame because it is pretty.

1st time in South Carolina and loved it!!

travelled with my family of 5 with 2 teenagers, we all enjoyed Kiawa Island, activities like Tennis and biking were the most practiced, I am sure once in the summer lots of facilities should be open. Freshfield shopping area with the convenient store had what necessary for us without leaving the island. as we traveled in December the weather was cold and rainy but the end of our stay there was some sun. would love to go back and enjoy it in the summer. the beach and the view was spectacular. the unit itself was good.it was clean but I felt it was not freshly cleaned, but once I called they were promt and provided me with lots of linen and extra towels, even they sent for cleaning the bathrooms. I would definitely visit the island again.
