WOTRH EVERY PENNY

This was an amazing cabin. This was my first time reserving a cabin so I wanted a cabin that was connected to a resort vs. a private owner. Wyndham had excellent customer service. We had to move our reservation due to the fires that were going on in December. They were extremely helpful and willing to move our reservation. After signing our contract, they sent us clear and precise directions and information on our arrival and departure. When we stepped into the cabin, we were speechless. Everything was so clean and so beautiful. The bedroom downstairs had a romantic and cute, heart-shaped tub. That room also had direct access to the Jacuzzi and the downstairs movie theater, which was great. The view was amazing. Going upstairs might be a challenge for some visitors, especially if you have a lot of luggage or were blessed with a larger body because it is a spiral staircase. Once you reach the top, it is just beautiful. The pictures that were on their website, were on point. The second bedroom overlooks all of Pigeon Forge and it is beautiful at night. The large, open windows makes for a beautiful view when you wake up in the morning. There is also a pool table, foosball table, air hockey, pacman, and driving game upstairs. The only thing that I would suggest is making the driving game free for your visitors. Again, I would highly recommend this cabin. We were far away from people but close enough to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

Awesome view

Cabin could have use brighter lighting. Cleaner windows because the view is awesome. Maybe a little updating. Overall I would definitely tell friends to come to the cabin. Our family enjoyed it. The whole family enjoyed the movie room.

Bear in the trees

We have atayed in cabins in the Smokies before. This cabin has no views! If you want views do not rent this cabin. They could do some trimming of the over grown trees and have a wonderful view. The kitchen untensels are terrible. The upstairs even with the fan running was much hotter than the main floor. It seemed very odd to go outside to go down stairs to the theater room also.It was a cool theater room.

Nice Cabin with Mountain View

We stayed in this cabin for three nights in February and it was very nice, despite negative reviews. The view is amazing, hot tub/jacuzzi tubs were in good condition. The beds were very comfortable. We didn't have a problem keeping the cabin a comfortable temperature. Yes there was dust on the top of the kitchen cabinets but otherwise the cabin was clean. Washer/dryer was a nice bonus. We were glad we brought our own towels because the towels provided were hard and brittle. The location is 30 minutes outside of Gatlinburg. Be cautious traveling up the mountain in winter months as the roads are very steep, one lane roads. Our little Toyota got stuck on the way up and had to be pushed out, would recommend four wheel drive. The price is steep but you pay for the view and is comparable to the area.

Grandkids vacation

Over all the cabin was ok. There is about a 20 degree difference up in the loft & ceiling fan didn't work. There are no window coverings up in the loft, Sun's beats in the Windows. They definitely need to go shopping for kitchen utensils..only service for 2, 1 mixing spoon. ceiling fan in the bedroom wobbles and made a noise, no water pressure when filling the Jacuzzi. Took at least 30 mins to get it up to the jets. The cabin It self needs a really good deep cleaning. Cob webs and dusty. Two jets did not work in the hot tub. For the premium price this time of year, we where a little disappointed. Maybe in the non season day's and paying a $100.00 less a night I would not be so diappointed. We stayed there for 5 day's.oh, make sure you are not affraid of heights.. It is way up there.

First time I've experienced reviews not matching experience, at all!!!!

I've been renting cabins for 30 years in and around the Gatlinburg area. This is the first time we have had an awful, unacceptable experience. Normally reviews are fairly close to what you find upon arrival. This was not the case, at all!!!! The place was filthy. Within minutes of arriving, our socks were black. The stove top was greasy, the toilets were dirty. The hot tub was not working. Maintenance fixed that in an hour or so. Not the way you want to start your vacation, with workers in the cabin. We realized in a short amount of time that the a/c was not cooling the cabin. We didn't call maintenance back because it was around 8 in the evening. We decided to tough it out until the next morning. Maintenance came out and assured us it would be fixed in a short amount of time. The front desk did offer to move us, at that point. But with maintenance telling us it would be fixed shortly, we figured by the time we got back to the cabin from sightseeing, we would be good to go. We had already unpacked our groceries, clothing and toiletries and dreaded the thought of packing them back only to unpack them again. When we arrived back, the a/c was not working. Maintenance had put a window unit in the bedroom which did nothing for the kitchen, den and upstairs area where the games were located. Maintenance, once again, assured us it would be fixed by the next morning. Long story short, upon check out, it was still not repaired. We think the unit had been broken as there was a dilapidated unit thrown on the side of the cabin. To add insult to injury, we were charged a $70 cleaning fee for a dirty cabin. I took pics to show Wyndham but they didn't seem to care. We spent more time at the cabin with the maintenance crew than we did alone. It was the worst vacation ever. After many phone calls and emails, Wyndham finally refunded us $121. We had spent nearly $800 for this awful experience. I don't normally write reviews but am hoping to prevent someone else from going through what we went through. Happy vacationing!

You pay for the view because everything else is terrible!

I rented this cabin for a romantic getaway for my wife and I. The price was steep but I felt like splurging since it was an anniversary trip. The view was good, but that was the end of the positive experience. The cabin looked great online and the Wyndham agent said it was a great location. The location is great but the cabin needs help. There was a great deal of dust in the cabin. The towels were horrendous; I have never had such cheap towels in a rental property. The linen on the beds was equally of poor quality. The downstairs theater was nice, but the equipment is old and cheap. The toilets had stains that should be cleaned. There are no window treatments upstairs on the front or back windows. The two fireplaces are cheap electric models. There was not a single closet or place to hang clothes. The outside staircase does not have anti slip material so beware when it rains or snows (as it did when we stayed). The heater takes forever to warm the house. There was mold and crud in the corner by the bedroom shower. Both shower heads were clogged with mineral build up. The arcade games were in terrible condition and only a few actually worked. I would have called maintenance but the phone did not work and the office was 15 miles away. The cabin floors also had several splits showing the poor craftsmanship of the builder. The bathroom exhaust fans were nearly covered with dirt showing how infrequent their cleaning.

cute but not clean

We stayed here for our first anniversary and it was amazing. 8 Years later, after having stayed in other cabins, we decided to come back for our 9th anniversary because the layout of the cabin was our favorite by far. While we know age changes things, we were a little disappointed. 1. The rental company now takes the full amount of your trip 2 weeks before you even leave. We don't agree with that. We've never had to pay the full amount that far in advance in any state or even any country. That's what the deposit is for. You pay the balance when you arrive. Not here. 2. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. No Godliness here. The floors were filthy. Our socks were black the first night after walking inside with no shoes. The glasses, dishes and silverware needed to be washed before using. There were 'crumbs' of some sort in the sheets. The hose to the hot tub was unplugged and the bottom of the hot tub was gritty. This makes me think the hot tub was not drained, cleaned & refilled in between guests. The ice hockey puck was missing on the game table. The puzzles were missing pieces. There was an 'odd' stain on the pool table. The kitchen table was full of crumbs between every log. There was a lot of hair in the shower. All of these things are "Ewww" factors. While they require guests to do their part to leave the cabin as neat as when they entered, I feel that the cleaning company does not do their part. This would be easily resolved by changing cleaning crews or even checking behind them to make sure they do their job. 3. The view from upstairs used to be absolutely breathtaking because you could see the sparkling city lights at night, and the beautiful colors by day. Now weeds have turned into trees with huge elephant leaves covering up the majority of it. There are literally 3 of these 'weeds' that could be cut down to bring that amazing view back. Without much effort at all this cabin could easily be the most wonderful, romantic, cozy cabin that it was 8 years ago. We adored this cabin. In fact, it's the only place we've come to twice because we feel life is too short to do the same thing twice. As much as we love this cabin, it was a little disappointing. For $1500/wk I feel cleanliness isn't too much to ask for. Maybe our expectations were too high since we knew what it used to be.

We absolutely fell in love with "The bear in the Trees" cabin....

This was our first trip to Tennessee and it could not have been better. The cabin was exactly like it was pictured on trip advisor. We stayed in the cabin half the day then went into pigeon forge and gatlinburg the other half. We hated to leave cabin because it was so comfortable for the two of us..we will definitely stay there again hopefully next year. The movie room was a treat, we played the video games, foosball and enjoyed the pool table. It was just an enjoyment for us and we would highly recommend it to anyone..

This cabin was awesome

This was our first cabin to stay at. We were on our honeymoon and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Everything was exactly like the pictures. Clean and prepared for our visit. No problems with anything there. We were so entertained with the top 2 floors that we forgot to check out the theatre room. The hot tub was clean and ready when we got there. The addition of the jacuzzi tub topped everything off. We will be returning to stay longer than 3 nights.
